Belas Clube de Campo

The golf club Belas Clube de Campo is located in the county Sintra between the towns of Belas and Queluz in the Serra de Carragueira mountains. West of Lisbon, it boasts a wonderful view of the Sintra mountain range, the Palacio Nacional da Pena in Belas, as well as the Cap Espichal, south of Tejo. 20 kilometers from Lisbon, Belas Clube de Campo is easily reached via the IC15. It was founded in 1997 and includes the 18-hole Belas Golf Course with par 72, designed by renowned golf course architect William “Rocky” Roquemore. 6,280 meters long, the first nine holes of the course traverse natural terrain, while the second nine holes border on the houses and villas of the club. Its very hilly terrain, thousands of trees, most of which are pine trees, which flank the greens and fairways, as well as some elevated tees define the challenge of the course for golfers. This can also be seen in the tribute paid to the famous masters championship course Augusta NGC in Georgia, at hole 2. The Belas Clube de Campo is the first European golf club with ISO-norms and the first in Portugal and Spain to be certified by the GEO (Golf Environment Organization), attesting to the quality of the course.
