Chapelco Golf & Resort

The golf club Chapelco Golf & Resort lies near the Argentinian city of San Martín de los Andes in the province of Nuequén, which belongs to Patagonia. It is situated on an area of 226 hectares at the foot of the Atraveseda hill and offers a view of the Andes and the Chapelco mountain range. From the center of San Martín de los Andes, the RN 40 brings golfers to Chapelco Golf & Resort in half an hour. Aviador Carlos Campos airport is just nine minutes away via the same route. The journey from Buenos Aires Airport International to the golf club only takes about two hours. The club opened an 18-hole parkland course with par 72 in 2006, designed by the famous golf club architect Jack Nicklaus and his son Jack Nicklaus II. They created a 6,549-meter course with birch and pine tree-lined fairways, small and partially crocked greens, numerous bunkers, and several water hazards. At holes 4, 5, and 12, golfers must play across a stream and a pond. The first Jack Nicklaus course in Latin America was voted one of the best courses in Argentina and one of the top 100 golf courses in the world by Top 100 Golf Courses. In 2010, Chapelco Golf & Resort also received the award for the best golf resort development in Argentina.
