Cobb’s Glen Country Club is located on a hilly terrain at the edge of the city of Anderson in Anderson County, belonging to the US state of South Carolina. It lies on the Plateau Piemont in the hinterland of South Carolina and is surrounded by a dense stock of trees. From Anderson’s center, you can get to Cobb’s Glen Country Club in just 15 minutes, and from the larger, neighboring cities Greenville and Mauldin you will need about a half an hour on the Interstate 85 S. It opened an 18-hole course with par 72 in 1976, the design coming from the famous golf course architect George Cobb. The 6,402-meter-long course has wide, wavy fairways flanked narrowly by trees and large, fast greens that are partly elevated. You will also find 90 bunkers, a few doglegs and water hazards at 6 holes. At holes 11, 13 to 15 and 17, golfers must tee across creeks, ponds and lakes. Especially noteworthy here is hole 11, where a swing over a lake to a 3-story green, which has three bunkers on its right at every step, is required. Golfers will find four different teeing options on the fairways, so that they can play with different levels of difficulty on this athletically and tactically challenging course in Cobb’s Glen Country Club. According to Golf Digest, this golf course is considered to be one of the best of South Carolina’s Upcountry.
