It offers an 18-hole course in the 1,700-inhabitant town. The course with par 72 even offers floodlit golfing for interested parties of at least four people! Cooper Pedy is a modification from the Aboriginal language and means “the white man’s hole”, which does not refer to the golf holes but to the entrances to mines. The greens consist of fine gravel, which is mixed with a little waste oil and is well designed to enable putting. In the winter, golfers can play on Sundays. In the summer, players meet on Fridays, and due to the hot temperatures not until dusk.
