Golf Club Münsterland e.V. Burgsteinfurt

The Golf Club Münsterland e.V. Burgsteinfurt is situated in Burgsteinfurt, a district of the town Steinfurt in the Münsterland. It is integrated into the so-called Bagno Park, the pleasure garden of the moated castle of the Princes of Bentheim and Steinfurt from the 12th century. The park was designed in the style of the Gardens of Versailles and was created in the 18th century. Due to its central location in Steinfurt, only 30 kilometers southwest of Münster, the Golf Club Münsterland e.V. Burgsteinfurt is easily accessible from there via the B54 within half an hour. It was founded in 1950 and has a parkland type 9 hole course with par 72. The flat terrain with water hazards is surrounded by forest, single old trees and meadows. As of the third tee, golfers can enjoy the view of the moated castle. This fairway directly runs across it and alongside the meadows of the Steinfurter Aa. Being athltically challenging, the course requires long, straight played shots from players of all levels because the carelessly played long shots otherwise end up in the natural tree hazards. The Golf Club Münsterland e.V. Burgsteinfurt has set up its clubhouse in the former main defense building of the princely castle. 500 meters away from the clubhouse is the practice area of the club. It contains a driving range with 15 tees, four of which are covered, a putting green and a pitching and chipping area.
