Golf de Mormal

The Golf de Mormal golf club is situated in the northern French commune of Preux-au-Sart, which is in the department of Nord in the region of Nord-Pas-de-Calais et Picardie. It is set on a 58 hectare piece of land, not far from the forests of Mormal, which belong to the regional natural park of de l’Avesnois near to the Belgian border. Golf de Mormal is embedded in idyllic copses and surrounded by ponds and orchards. The golf club is 20 minutes away from the next largest towns in the region, Valenciennes and Mauberge, via the D649. In 1993, it opened an 18 hole, par 72 course, which was designed by golf course architect Jean-Claude Cornillot. The 6,022 meter long course is on very hilly terrain which is set with bumpy fairways, old trees and scores of ponds. The course is suitable for both athletic beginners and old hands with more experience. The Golf de Mormal has a practice area which, alongside a driving range with 30 tees, of which 10 are covered, a practice bunker and a putting and pitching green, also has a 600 meter long 6 hole par 18 short course. The club house is in the rooms of an old farm house in the traditional style of the Avernois region. Moreover, Mormal has its own Pro Shop, where golfers can purchase golf clubs, golf clothing, tees, golf balls, gloves and other golfing goods.
