Golf du Clou

The golf club Golf du Clou is located in the town of Villars-les-Dombes, which is part of the region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in the eastern French department of Ain. The golf course lies in the midst of a landscape filled with countless fish ponds. Golf du Clou is easily reachable by car via the D1083. The city center of Villars-les-Dombes is only four minutes away from the club on this road. Nearby Bourg-en-Bresse is approximately 25 minutes away, and the major city of Lyon 40 minutes. The D2 also offers a fast route to the Golf du Clou, with which the trip from the airport Lyon Saint-Exupery takes about 45 minutes. Here, a 5351 meter long 18 hole course of the parkland/woodland/heathland type with par 67 awaits golfers. Frédéric Regard is responsible for its design. The course’s flat terrain offers bunkers, doglegs, several island greens or peninsula greens, and most of all water. The Golf du Clou grounds are arranged around a large lake the size of 12 hectares which dominates the entire course. The holes are rather short and demand precise play. It consists of a driving range with 35 range tees as well as putting green. Golf clubs, electronic carts as well as trolleys can be rented, in case the available equipment at the on-site Pro Shop should prove insufficient for a successful round of golf.
