Golf- und Landclub Bad Arolsen e.V. is by the Twistesee reservoir in North Hesse, only a few kilometers east of the town of Bad Arolsen in the Waldecker Land region. Even though it is only ten minutes from the center of Bad Arolsen, it is situated amidst hills and dense deciduous and pine forests. Nevertheless, Golf- und Landclub Bad Arolsen e.V. is well connected to public transport. The golf course can easily be reached from Kassel, which is 45 kilometers away, by taking the B450 or the A44. Founded in 1997, the club tasked the renowned golf course architect Peter Harradine with designing the 9-hole Twistesee course (par 63); it was opened in 1998. The public golf course impresses with narrow fairways, a tricky rough and several sand bunkers. It is suitable for well-abled beginners as well as seasoned golfers. The training area at Golf- und Landclub Bad Arolsen e.V. features a driving range with 20 open and 20 sheltered tee-off points, which can be lit up during training in the evenings. There are also two pitching areas with practice bunkers. Golfers who don’t have their own equipment can hire clubs, trolleys and electric carts. Those who want to equip themselves with suitable golf clothing and kit can choose from a large selection of brand apparel at the club’s pro shop. Club fitting and repairs are also offered by the golf club, along with trial sessions and golf license courses for beginners.
