Golfanlage Schloss Haag

In the Dutch border area at the lower part of the Lower Rhine surrounded by wetlands, hedges and forests, the Golfanlage Schloss Haag is located in the North-Rhine Westphalian town Geldern. It covers an area of about 100 hectares around the medieval Schloss Haag of the imperial count family von und zu Hoensbroech, which was mentioned for the first time in 1337. Due to its proximity to the Ruhr Area, the Golfanlage Schloss Haag can be reached within about half an hour via the A40 from Duisburg and other cities in the Ruhr Area. The golf club was founded in 1995 and owns an 18 hole course with par 73, which was designed by the golf architect Hardes, as well as a public 6 hole short course. The flat course is situated between the wetlands of the rivers Niers and Fleuth and its water hazards, cleverly arranged bunkers, undulating greens and several doglegs make clear that golfers need to take this challenging course seriously. The short course too is flat and includes water hazards. It is perfect for practicing short shots. Furthermore, the Golfanlage Schloss Haag has an attractively equipped practice area with a driving range with over 18 tees, eight of which are covered. It also includes a chipping zone with practice bunkers, two putting greens and a separate short shot area. Its highlight is the indoor facility with a 140 square meter putting and chipping area, a club check and a swing analysis using the Sam-Puttlab.
