Golfclub Abenberg

The grounds of Golfclub Abenberg e.V. lie harmoniously integrated into the wetlands directly underneath the beautiful Burg Abenberg. The Middle Franconian club has a beautiful 27 hole championship course. It offers experienced golfers as well as beginners ideal sportive conditions. The parkland/heathland course was opened in 1989. The terrain is flat but still demanding, since well-reinforced greens, several water hazards and bunkers require a high degree of precision. Each hole is different – yet they all offer splendid panoramic views. Golfclub Abenberg e.V. is especially proud of its silver prize in the German publication “Golf & Natur.” The ambitious club organizes several tournaments. For practicing purposes, there is a public 6 hole short course in the meadowland style as well as a driving range. It has 30 green tees, 20 all-weather tees and eight tee-off boxes. Chipping, pitching, and putting greens and bunkers round off the practice area. With three professional coaches, the golf school is excellently prepared. Among others, it offers trial and license courses. A complete set of equipment can be rented on site or purchased in the Pro Shop. After finishing the game, golfers can take pleasure in Italian cuisine or regional specialties at the club’s own golf restaurant. The historic old town of charming Abenberg also lends itself to walks.
