Golfclub Drachenwand

Golf Drachenwand, Mondsee is located in St. Lorenz next to the Mondsee in the Upper Austrian region of Salzkammergut. It is located on the western bank of the Mondsee at the foot of the so-called Drachenwand, a steep cliff that belongs to the norther chalk Alps. From here, one has a wonderful view of the Mondsee and the surrounding landscape. Only 30 kilometers from Salzburg, the Golfclub Drachenwand Mondsee can be reached via the A1. It was founded in 1991 and offers a 22-hectare large 9-hole-course with par 70, designed by the South African golf course architect Marc Muller. He was inspired by the Jack Nicklaus’ idea and the famous Cayman Island course. The golf course is slightly hilly and contains ponds, biotopes, dog legs, as well as numerous bunkers. Some fairways lead past steep mountain cliffs and through the forest. Even for experienced golfers, the course – which has been named one of the most beautiful golf courses in Austria several times – constitutes a tactical and athletic challenge. In the club’s practice area, Golf Drachenwand, Mondsee boasts a driving range with eleven range tees, of which three are covered, as well as a putt, pitch, and chip area. Corresponding golf clothing, equipment, and accessories can be purchased at the club’s own Pro-Shop. There are also rental clubs available on-site, as well as rental trolleys and electric carts in order to comfortably travers the course.
