Golfclub Göppingen e.V.

Situated on a natural plateau with an intriguing panoramic view of the Fils valley, the Albrand and the three Kaiserberge Hohenstaufen, Rechberg and Stuifen, one can find the Golfclub Göppingen e.V. near Göppingen, a city in Baden-Württemberg 40 kilometers east of Stuttgart. From Stuttgart it can be reached within 35 minutes via the B10. The area that the Golfclub Göppingen e.V. now calls home was originally a historic airfield that US soldiers transformed into a golf course in the 1950s. Thus, it is said to be one of the oldest golf parks in Württemberg. The present golf club was founded in 1998 and the golf park was completely redesigned by Harradine Golf in 2008. Today, the public 9 hole course with par 72 is an athletically challenging course with a flat terrain, water hazards, small, narrow and elevated greens, as well as many bunkers. It requires precise shots and a sophisticated technique. Golfers can practice this in the practice area on-site that also includes a driving range. The latter contains 50 tees and twelve covered and heated teeing boxes. Additionally, the Golfclub Göppingen e.V. offers putting and chipping greens to improve one’s game. Clubs and trolleys can be rented from the club. Beginners can obtain the necessary golf know how in trial classes as well as a license to play golf courses at the Golf Akademie Göppingen.
