Golfclub Hamm e.V.

The Golfclub Hamm e.V. covers a plateau of the Bördelandschaft on the eastern border of the Ruhr Area in Hamm-Drechen. It is located on the area of the former Schulzenhof Gut Drechen from the 12th century and, due to its elevated position, has a nice view of the Haarstrang, a mountain range on the southern border of the Westphalian Lowland. Because of its proximity to the A2, it has a good traffic connection and the Golfclub Hamm e.V. can also be reached by the A1. It was established in 1995 and opened its 18 hole course with par 72 on an area formerly reserved for agricultural purposes of the Gut Drechen. The course is flat and well playable for beginners and advanced players alike. Even though the wide fairways and relatively flat terrain do not excite practiced players, its wet- and drylands, ponds, a surprising island green and some doglegs require a precise game. The Golfclub Hamm e.V. includes a practice area with a driving range with 20 tees, of which 5 are covered. Putting, pitching and chipping opportunities are provided as well. The club rents golf clubs as well as trolleys and electric carts that help getting around the athletic course more easily.
