Golfclub Herrensee

The Golfclub Herrensee is in the Lower Austrian town of Litschau in the environmentally protected area of northern Waldviertel, only five to ten kilometers from the border to the Czech Republic. It is located not far from Lake Herrensee in the picturesque valley of Reißbach, surrounded by an idyllic forest and fields landscape. In the northern part of the Waldviertel, the Golfclub Herrensee is nevertheless well connected to road transportation. It is located just 30 kilometers from Gmünd via the B30 and 150 kilometers from the cities of Vienna and Brünn via the E49 and route 152. Only five kilometers separated the neighboring Golfresort Haugschlag from the, only five kilometers, also associated with the club. The Golfclub Herrensee was founded in 1992 and has a public 18-hole pay and play course with par 54. This is the first public compact course in Austria, as its fairways only cover 10 hectares. The course with its short fairways of 70 to 110 meters is considered easy and recommended for both beginners and those with little experience. With its narrow fairways, bunkers, and water hazards, as well as small greens, an exact game requiring concentration is necessary. Golfers can train at the driving range in the practice area of the club that offers putting and pitching greens, practice bunkers, as well as 18 range tees, of which six are covered.
