Golfclub NationalparkHohe Tauern

The Golfclub Nationalpark Hohe Tauern is located in the Salzburg region of Pinzgau between the towns of Mittersil and Stuhlfelden. It is centrally located in the national park “Hohe Tauern” and the Kitzbühel Alps, giving the club its fantastic Alpine panorama. The Golfclub Nationalpark Hohe Tauern follows the river Salzach, three kilometers east of downtown Mittersill and can be reached via the B161, B311, and A10 from Kitzbühel (30 kilometers), Salzburg (130 kilometers), and Berchtesgaden (100 kilometers). Although plans to develop the golf course already existed in the 1930s, even with Edward, Prince of Wales, involved, the Golfclub Nationalpark Hohe Tauern was not founded until 1987. He named the 18-hole course with par 70 his own, which also challenged players with a higher handicap. The course is 5,720 meters long and has an open, flat, terrain, complimented by dog legs, water hazards, such as ponds, streams, and lakes, as well as old barns in the middle of the fairways, all making the course tactically and athletically challenging. The driving range at Golfclub Nationalpark Hohe Tauern is comprised of 15 range tees, of which six are covered. The tees are raised, while the adjoining area falls by 15 meters. In the practice area of the club, there are also putting and pitching greens with a sand bunker, as well as a chipping green and a fairway bunker.
