Llandrindod Wells Golf Club

The grounds of the traditional club in Wales were founded in 1905. It was no less than the seven-time major champion Harry Vardon who designed the course. The 18-hole course with par 69 was later carefully expanded and modernized. Even today, it is counted among the most beautiful courses in Wales that every golfer should play at least once. The slightly hilly parkland links-course is not long at only 5,300 meters, but still rather tricky. Those that do not exercise precision and concentration when teeing off will quickly lose their balls on the slanted, often blind, and well-protected greens. The views of the historic spa town of Llandrindod Wells from the course are fascinating, in addition to the views of the surrounding valleys and lake. A feeling of timelessness is not uncommon at Llandrindod Wells Golf Club when the view of the Victorian roofs of the city contrast the wonderful hilly landscape, back dropped against circling buzzards and red kites. To warm up and practice, there is a driving range with various practice greens, a Pro Shop, and a golf school. Those interested can rent equipment. A highlight is the beautiful club restaurant that is situated atop a cliff and offers a unique view of the landscape. The Llandrindod Wells Golf Club is located in the center of Wales in the country of Powys, not far from the A483.
