Maryborough Golf Course

Maryborough Golf Course is located about 300 kilometers North of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. It was established in 1927 and lies embedded between Mary River and Anzac Park which is home to many bird species. The 18-hole course with par 70 of Maryborough Golf Course has fairways with a good mix of different lengths and layouts. Numerous obstacles and trees provide a diverse game. The course opens with some long and short par 4 fairways which are quite narrow due to the surrounding tree-lines. Players must choose their clubs wisely here and bring the ball through this course with a calm hand. Hole 8 is a tough one for higher handicappers as its water hazards are quite tricky. Still, the most difficult hole is the closing par 4 with 407 meters where you need to play into the south-easterly wind most of the time. Maryborough Golf Course has a total length of 5,658 meters. The club has a pro shop and a bistro which serves tasty burgers, fresh salads and diverse fish and meat dishes. It takes about three hours from Brisbane to Maryborough Golf Course by car. The next bigger town, Hervey Bay, can be reached within 30 minutes. From there it is not far to the coast or to Fraser Island, the world’s biggest sand island and UNESCO world heritage site.
