Mühlenhof Golf & Country Club e.V.

On the Roman Via Romana between Xanten and Nijmegen embedded in the typical Lower Rhine pollarded willow landscape, one can find the Mühlenhof Golf & Country Club e.V. in Kalkar-Niedermörmter. The former good traffic connection still exists today. Thus, the club can be easily reached from Xanten, which is only 15 kilometers away, via the B57 and B67, and from the Dutch city Nijmegen, which is 60 kilometers away, via the A73. The Mühlenhof Golf & Country Club e.V. was established in 1992 and was arranged around the historic Mühlenhof. Its landmark, the listed Düffelsmühle, was used as a defensive tower for the neighboring Boetzelaer Castle in the 12th century. Only in the 17th century was it converted into a windmill. The club owns a public parkland type 18 hole course with par 72, which was designed by Hans Hertzberger. The flat terrain with its many water hazards like ponds and streams, bunkers and terraced greens puts athletic and strategic demands on beginners and advanced players alike. The practice area at the Mühlenhof Golf & Country Club e.V. contains a public 6 hole short course as well, which can be used for practice or warm up purposes. The driving range of the club includes 44 tees, of which ten are covered. Furthermore, there are practice bunkers, a putting green, an up- and downhill area and a warm up zone.
