Real Golf La Manga Club – North Course

The exclusive golf resort La Manga Club is southeast of Murcia, about 10 kilometers away from the city of Cartagena. In addition to the golf course, there are also spacious facilities for playing rugby, tennis, soccer, cricket and much more. At Real Golf La Manga Club, golfers can choose between three different 18 hole courses. The northern and southern courses were designed by Robert Dean Putman, though Arnold Palmer redesigned the latter. The layout of the western 18-hole course was designed by Dave Thomas. An unusual feature at Real Golf La Manga Club is the 18-hole practice course for training pitching and putting. It was designed by Severiano Ballesteros. All three golf courses have been voted among the 40 best golf courses in all of Spain several times. Part of the reason for this is the course’s beautiful landscape, which is interspersed with palm trees, lakes and so-called “Barrancas,” which are natural sinks for absorbing heavy rainfall. Due to the exposed location of the western course and the number of elevation differences within the fairways, this course requires a tactical game plan, especially in case of strong wind. The spacious training facilities and lessons offered by Leadbetter Academy make the Real Golf La Manga Club the perfect course for further developing one’s golfing skills. Equipment and textiles by top brands can be purchased at the Pro Shop before or after the game. The “37 Spike & Sports Bar” in the main building and the “La Princesa” restaurant near the western courses invite guests to enjoy refreshments and local specialties.
