Salta Polo Club is located near the Argentinian town of Salta in the northeast of the province of Salta. It stretches across the idyllic Valle de Lerma and offers a wonderful view of the foothills of the Andes From Salta’s city center, Salta Polo Club can be reached quickly in 13 minutes via the Circunvalación. It was founded in 1925, but only opened its 18-hole parkland course with par 71 in 1955. The course was designed by Colonel Francisco Anibal Galindez and Captain Raul de la Torre. The first holes of the former course correspond to today’s holes 10, 11, and 18, which have been redesigned. The 6,249-meter course features narrow fairways densely lined by pine and Pacara trees, very small and fast greens, several doglegs, as well as water hazards at holes 6, 7, 16, and 18. The signature hole of the Salta Polo Club course is hole 2, which is surrounded by four lakes. Despite the course’s difficulty, both beginners and experienced golfers can master it. The course, which is considered to be one of the best in the region, offers golfers a driving range for practicing. At the on-site pro shop, golf clothing as well as items such as gloves, hats, or balls can be purchased.
