The Els Club

The 18-hole-course with par 72 of the Els Club is located in the Dubai Sports City. The championship course opened in 2008 was designed by Ernie Els, a golf legend. He developed a links-style-course, which perfectly adjusts to the topography of the place and shows numerous attributes of a “real” links course. The course is a perfect mix of desert terrain and lush greens and fairways. Els was inspired by large international golf courses. Therefore, some bunkers resemble the ones of Royal Melbourne. Some greens remind of Pinhurst Nr. 2. The courses run across a flat desert area, which is sometimes gently wavy and sometimes hilly. The fairways are wide, but large bunkers lurk along the way. Water hazards are rare, they interfere at the holes 7 and 15. The wavy greens are tricky. With 7,538 yards, the course at the Els Club is very long. Overall, it is very challenging. Due to the different tee boxes, the course is also suitable for occasional golfers. The golfers are rewarded with gorgeous views of the course and the great bunkers, whose white sand shimmers in the sun. Not only the athletic course at the Els Club is world-class, but the service, the beautiful clubhouse with the restaurants “The big Easy” and “261” as well as the driving range are also absolutely outstanding.
