Townsville Golf Club

The club dates back to 1893 and is the oldest golf club in Queensland. Its gorgeous 18 hole course was modernized in 2016 and is located by the Ross river, only ten minutes from Rosslea. The Townsville Golf Club offers a challenging par-72 course. It extends throughout a new and exclusive residential area, but still offers a peaceful refuge. The terrain is relatively flat with broad, irrigated fairways and large, undulating greens. The fairways are lined by high trees, many of them embellished by enchanting flowers. The course of the Townsville Golf Club is meticulously tended year-round. It offers golfers a challenging course with bunkers and water hazards as well as gorgeous views. Townsville’s 286 meter-high and densely forested local mountain can also be seen from the course. Visitors continue to be impressed by the countless species of birds that inhabit the facilities of the Townsville Golf Club. No less than three PGA golf teachers offer individual and group lessons on the club; the club also offers a sizable Pro Shop. Townsville itself is situated directly by the Indian Ocean, 285 kilometers south of Cairns. The Great Barrier Reef runs directly along the coast; in the outback, the Great Australian Dividing Range. These are a designated Unesco World Natural Heritage Site, as is the Great Barrier Reef. Guests are always welcome at the Townsville Golf Club.
