Windy Hill Sports Complex

The Windy Hill Sports Complex can be found in the village of Midlothian, which is a suburb of Richmond. Richmond belongs to Chesterfield County in the US state of Virginia. The golf club winds across a 60-hectares-large site on the highest point of the Virginian Piemont, directly at Midlothian Turnpike. The Windy Hill Sports Complex can be reached from Midlothian’s center in eight minutes. From Virginia’s capital city, Richmond, it takes just 25 minutes to reach the club via the VA-76 S. In 1989, the Windy Hill Sports Complex opened the 9 hole lakes course with par 35, which was cleverly designed by J.K. Timmions. The course is 2,441 meters long and runs across a hilly terrain with densely forested, narrow fairways, short holes and large greens. At four holes there are water hazards, and at holes 2, 4 and 8 the water hazards must be overplayed. In 1994, another golf course was added to the Lakes Course. It was a 9-hole par three course with par 27, and its design was Milton Phillips’ creation. This course also has a hilly layout, and, with a length of 914 meters, has wide and short fairways, large wavy greens and a water hazard at hole 8. The fairways, measuring between 73 and 128 meters in length, are also fully lit up during the night from April to September. They are also often used for the trend sport footgolf.
