Ararat Chalambar Golf Club

The Ararat Chalambar Golf Club lies about two kilometers to the west of the small town of Ararat, by the foot of One Tree Hill. In the 19th century, it was temporarily a flourishing gold-digging center. The 18-hole course with par 70 is 5,524 meters long. The golf course is situated in a wonderful, quite hilly terrain with high trees from which beautiful tropical birds observe the action below them. Kangaroos, wallabies, and numerous other animals are equally unperturbed by the athletic activity on the golf course. The course is demanding and varied for players of all levels. It is characterized by wavy fairways. Bunkers and numerous water hazards protect the greens and present even experienced golfers with a challenge. Again and again, picturesque panoramas of the gorgeous rural surroundings open up to golfers. The course at Ararat Chalambar Golf Club is available for playing all year long. The course is irrigated and in a very good condition. Guests are always welcome at Chalambar. For training purposes, a driving range and practice greens are available. Golf equipment can be rented on site at the pro shop. The Ararat Chalambar Golf Club values a friendly and familial environment. The club also features two bowling greens right next to the club house. Ararat is located on the Western Highway in the state of Victoria, about 200 kilometers to the west of Melbourne. The region is also well known for the nearby Grampians National Park.
