Golfvereniging de Batouwe - Perengaard Platz

The Golfvereniging de Batouwe lies in the village of Zoelen, located in the municipality of Buren in the central Dutch province of Gelderland. It is embedded into the landscape of the Batouwe with soft hills and dense forests. The terrain of the Golfvereniging de Bazouwe runs along a canal and through wooded areas. It boasts good transport links to the neighboring towns of Tiel and Kerk-Avezaath. The golf club was founded in 1990 and is home to a 36-hole park, for which landscape architect Alan Rijks could be won to supply the design. The four 9 hole loops carry the names of fruit trees and were not designed at the same time. Initially, the courses Perengaard (pear tree garden) and Appelgaard (apple tree garden) were opened and could be played as an 18-hole parkland course with par 72. In 2004, Kersengaard (cherry tree garden) was added. As a 27-hole course in the Golfvereniging de Batouwe, the golf course has A status. It comprises very many large water hazards, has long, mostly narrow fairways, countless bunkers, doglegs, and fruit trees. Moreover, the Kersengaard has many island greens. Additionally, there is a 9 hole 3 and 4 par course named Pruimengaard (plum tree garden), which possesses its own driving range with practice areas as well as a separate clubhouse. The 27-hole course features a reed-covered clubhouse designed by the well-known architect Jan des Bouvrie. For golf training, a partially covered driving range, putting greens, a chipping area, and a practice bunker are available.
