Gailes Golf Club

Established in 1924, the Gailes Golf Club features a beautiful 18-hole course with par 73 today. The fairways run along slightly hilly terrain. Large trees surround the perfectly maintained fairways, which have a maximum length of 6,245 meters. Whether pro or hobby golfer: The course is interesting for players of all handicaps. The greens, covered with Bermuda 328 grass, are well protected by strategically placed bunkers. Technique and concentration are required here. The same applies to the water hazards which intervene in the course at several places. Due to its excellent drainage, the course can also be played in wet weather. Gailes Golf Club is even one of the few clubs in Queensland which once hosted an Australian Open (1955). Today, the club still hosts prestigious tournaments. The practice areas are also outstanding: Gailes Golf Club has the longest driving range in the region around Brisbane with about 300 meters. In addition, there are practice greens and bunkers. The excellent offerings for golfers also include a well-equipped pro shop and a golf school that teaches individual and group courses. Guests are always welcome, but the club’s dress code should be observed. The facility lies right next to the Wolston Park Golf Course in the catchment area of Brisbane, the city center of which is 20 minutes by car to the northeast.
