Golfclub Rügen e.V.

Golfclub Rügen e.V. is in Karnitz, a northern district of Garz, which is the oldest and smallest town on the Baltic island of Rügen. It is part of the Schloss Karnitz Rügen golf center, which is located in the south of the island, only 5 kilometers from the Baltic coast. Golfclub Rügen e.V. is only 22 kilometers from Stralsund. Rügen’s airport (Güttin Airfield) is also only around five kilometers from the golf center. The club was founded in 1995 and boasts the only 27-hole golf park on Rügen. With its hilly terrain, numerous water obstacles, narrow fairways, vast roughs and high trees, the 18-hole course with a par of 72 is a challenge for golfers. It’s no surprise that it was named the “Challenge Course”. The 9-hole Public Course with a par of 60 is easy to play on and can be completed effortlessly by beginners. The romantic Karnitz hunting lodge, which once belonged to the aristocratic von Usedom family who were declared opponents of Bismarck, is in close proximity to the golf park. The training area at Golfclub Rügen e.V. consists of a driving range with 50 tee-off points, 20 of which are sheltered, a putting green, three pitching and chipping greens as well as a 3-hole practice park. Clubs, electric carts and trolleys are available for hire. Golf enthusiasts can book introductory classes as well as golf license and handicap improvement courses at the Rügen golf academy.
