Gordonvale Golf Club

The Gordonvale Golf Club is located 20 kilometers to the south of Cairns and runs along the Mulgrave river at the foot of the impressive Walsh pyramid. In the picturesque landscape, the Gordonvale Golf Club presents a great athletic destination for golfers of all handicaps. The 18-hole course with par 70 is a total of 5,075 meters long. The greens are relatively small and covered with rich green 328 Bermuda couch grass, demanding accurate swings. The pyramid-shaped and 922-meter-high Walsh Mountain rises majestically from the landscape and creates a great backdrop for the golf course. The course consists of two different areas: The inner course is relatively openly designed, with wonderful views of the pyramid mountain, which is often illuminated by enchanting rainbows in the background. A deep ditch runs along the grounds, which players must take into account. A little more on the outside, the second set of nine holes run along a terrain with numerous trees. Particularly the doglegs are tricky here. Guests are always welcome at the Gordonvale Golf Club. Golfers usually meet in a convivial round at the pleasant club restaurant or bar after their game. Gordonvale itself is known for its sugar industry and as a starting point for hikes to the Walsh pyramid, to national parks such as the Gadgarra, Wooroonooran, or Danbulla National Park, and the wet tropics of Queensland.
