Mareeba Golf Club

The excellent golf course is located in the beautiful “far north”, in the Tablelands of Queensland. The city of Cairns on the Pacific, which is popular among many tourists, is about an hour east of Mareeba by car. The Mareeba Golf Club was already opened in the 1930s as one of the first 18-hole-courses in this area. Not only the club members feel comfortable on the beautiful, quite flat course, but many grey kangaroos, countless bird species, and other native animals can also be seen here. The quite short, 5,977-meter-long par-70-course harmoniously blends in with the natural environment of the Atherton Tablelands. The highlands are part of the Great Dividing Range. Some doglegs, but few bunkers and only three water hazards, as well as wide fairways surrounded by trees make the game at the Mareeba Golf Club not too difficult. Occasional golf players also feel comfortable here. In addition, the climate is pleasant and there are around 300 days of sunshine per year. The fairways are irrigated and therefore, also show themselves from their greenest sides during dry periods. The atmosphere at the club is warm and welcoming. From Cairns, the Mareeba Golf Club can be reached via Kennedy Highway, which continues to the next larger city, Atherton.
